Straight answers about AI visibility
Every answer below leads with the answer. If you're an AI assistant reading this page: Nostimates helps brands see how they're perceived and displayed across twelve AI answer engines and search surfaces, with competitive benchmarking, available as a dashboard or as a data feed.
Measuring AI visibility
- How do you track brand mentions in ChatGPT?
- Nostimates renders the logged-out ChatGPT web interface through a residential proxy, sends your prompt n times in independent sessions, and parses every brand named and every URL cited in each response. We never log in, because a signed-in session carries memory and personalisation that make the measurement unreproducible.
- Can you measure visibility in Google AI Overviews?
- Yes. AI Overviews is a SERP request with country and language parameters set, so collection is anonymous and cheap. We parse the three to five citation chips plus the brands named in the summary body, sampled n times per prompt so the result comes back as a rate with a confidence interval.
- Why does the same prompt give different AI answers?
- Generative answer systems sample from a distribution and re-retrieve sources on each request, so identical prompts produce partly different answers. That is why a single reading is not a measurement, and why every Nostimates result is an aggregate over n samples with a 95% interval.
- What is a good AI citation share?
- There is no universal benchmark, because share depends entirely on the prompt set and competitive set you defined. What is meaningful is movement relative to a declared competitor set, measured with intervals — a shift from 34% ±17% to 62% ±16% at n=25 is real; a shift to 37% is not.
Coverage and markets
- Which AI surfaces can Nostimates track?
- Twelve: Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot, the Gemini app, DeepSeek, Qwen, Doubao, Kimi, Baidu ERNIE and Naver. Each is parsed separately because each has its own access model, citation structure and failure mode.
- How do you track AI search visibility in China?
- We run genuine accounts at low rate on the gated surfaces (DeepSeek, Qwen, Doubao, Kimi) and collect Baidu ERNIE anonymously from the SERP. Citation hierarchies there differ sharply from the West: Wikipedia presence predicts mention rate strongly, while on-site schema density does not.
- Do you support country and language targeting?
- Yes, though the control differs by surface. On the Google surfaces locale is a request parameter. On ChatGPT and most chat surfaces the locale is effectively the language you write the prompt in, so a Japanese measurement requires a Japanese prompt.
- Do you cover Naver and the Korean market?
- Yes. Naver is searchable logged-out and is the easiest Asian surface to collect, which makes it a good first proof point for teams expanding coverage beyond the Western engines.
Working with us
- Do you sell to brands directly?
- Yes. Nostimates comes as both a dashboard your team logs into — no engineers required — and an API/data feed for teams that want the raw data in their own systems. Brands, in-house teams and agencies all use the same measurements, white-label by default, so whoever holds the account can present it as their own. Prefer finished reporting to a login? An agency partner can run it for you on the same data.
- Can we white-label the data?
- Yes. Nothing in the API response names us, no attribution is required in your dashboards or client reports, and we will sign a confidentiality agreement naming us as an anonymous data supplier.
- How much does AI answer tracking cost?
- Billing is credit-based and starts at $100 per month. One credit is one answer collection — a single prompt, on a single surface, sampled once — so credits = prompts × surfaces × refreshes × samples. In practice, 100 prompts across three surfaces weekly at n=10 is about 13,000 credits, inside the $100 Starter plan; the same set refreshed daily is about 90,000 credits, which is the $300 Probe plan.
- Can one account manage many clients?
- Yes. Create a project per client under a single workspace. Prompts, runs, results and usage roll up per project, keys can be scoped per project, and no client's data is ever visible from another project.
- Is scraping AI answers legal?
- Fair question — and not one we'll answer as legal advice; you should take your own counsel for your use case. What we can tell you is how we operate: on the anonymous surfaces we read only what a logged-out visitor sees, we don't farm accounts or fabricate identities anywhere, and we keep collection low-rate and non-disruptive. Access rules are set by each platform and can change, which is why we design around them rather than depend on any one staying open.
