Canary prompt

A canary prompt is a prompt with a stable, known-good expected output, run at a fixed cadence against each engine to detect when parsing quality degrades.

When an engine changes its layout, canaries fail before customer data goes visibly wrong, which converts a silent data-quality incident into a paging alert.

Publishing canary health is one of the few honest ways a vendor can show whether its data was trustworthy last week.
