Evidence retention

Evidence retention is the practice of storing the full text of every sampled answer, with its timestamp, engine, market and parser version, so any aggregate figure can be traced back to its source data.

It is what turns a reported percentage into something defensible in front of a client who disagrees with it.

It also allows retrospective re-analysis: when a new question comes up, you can answer it from stored answers instead of re-collecting.
